Why we started, and why we're staying

A note from our founder.

I started PlexaRP because I was tired of how roleplay servers were being run. Tired of staff hovering over every scene, of players being managed instead of trusted, and of communities where nobody would give you a straight answer. I watched good people walk away from servers they loved because of it.

I wanted to build the opposite. A city where you are free to tell your own story. Where staff are there to help, not to control. And where the people running it are honest with you, even when the news is not good.

So this is what I am committing to. I will tell you the truth about what is happening, good or bad. When we make a decision that affects you, you will hear why. When we get something wrong, we will own it and fix it. And we will keep listening, because this city belongs to the people who play in it.

I hold every single member of staff to account. Their job is to treat you fairly, every time, whoever you are, and what they do is logged and checked. If they fall short, they answer to me. That starts with training, and we take it seriously: nobody gets powers here without learning the job properly first, and the learning does not stop once they are in. Behind the scenes we are a close family. We look out for each other and we are honest with each other, and that is how we want you to be looked after too.

I also want to be clear about one thing: we are not going anywhere. PlexaRP is not a side project that disappears when things get hard. We are backed, we are building every single day, and we are in this for the long haul. Servers come and go. This one is staying.

Thank you for being part of it. Whether you have been here since the beginning or you joined this week, you are the reason this works.

Running it day to day

The people who lead PlexaRP day to day, alongside the founder.

Head of Community

Luminin

Luminin knows what it takes to run a community from the top. Before PlexaRP, Luminin owned Paleto Bay Roleplay, then chose to close it and bring that experience here.

As Head of Community, Luminin looks after the people who make the city: listening to players, welcoming new faces, and making sure the community's voice reaches the team.

Head of Business Development

Musiceith

Musiceith is one of the people running the server, and leads business development for PlexaRP.

That means growing the project for the long term: working with partners and new communities, and making sure the city has what it needs to keep going and keep getting better.

Head Administrator

Jones

Jones has worked up through the ranks, one step at a time, and has shown the kind of dedication that makes a city run.

As Head Administrator, Jones keeps everything else moving day to day: the admin team, reports, and the hundred small things players never see but always feel.

No micromanagement.

We trust our staff to do the job and our players to tell their own stories, without someone watching over every move. That trust is backed by checks that apply to everyone, staff included, and by paying people properly.

  • Heavy staff loggingStaff actions are logged in detail: what was done, by whom, to whom and when. Nothing an admin does with their powers goes unrecorded.
  • Anti-corruption AIAI reviews staff activity for signs of abuse, favouritism or conflicts of interest, and flags anything that looks wrong to management.
  • TransparencyIf we change something or make a call that affects you, we tell you what and why. If we get something wrong, we say so.
  • AccountabilityStaff follow written rules and answer for their actions like anyone else. Rank is not a shield: misuse of powers leads to suspension or removal.
  • Training firstNobody gets powers without learning the job properly. New staff work through our training programme, and the learning carries on once they are in.
  • A close familyBehind the scenes we look out for each other and are honest with each other. That is how we want every player to be looked after too.
  • Paid developersThe people building the city are paid for their work. Every new system, fix and feature you see comes from developers we pay.
  • Revenue sharingA share of what PlexaRP earns goes back to the team that earns it. When the city does well, the people behind it do too.
  • Generous admin packagesOur administration team is offered generous revenue share packages, so the people handling your reports and keeping things fair are properly rewarded.

The rest of the team

Developers build the game systems, the control panel, the launcher and the tools staff use every day. Administrators handle reports, enforce the rules in real time and help new players find their feet.
